What ttsanything collects when you turn text into speech, why, and how long it is kept
Summary
ttsanything turns text into speech. To do that we receive the text you want read aloud and send it to a speech service. We do not sell your data, show ads based on it, or use your text to train models.
What we collect
- Text you convert. When you press Read it aloud, the text is sent to our servers. Files you choose (PDF, Word, EPUB, subtitles) are opened in your browser; only the text taken from them is sent, never the file itself. For a web link, our server fetches that page and keeps the article text.
- Audio we make for you. The MP3 parts and the joined file.
- Account details. If you create an account: your name, email address, and a hashed password, or your Google profile name and email if you sign in with Google.
- Usage counts. How many characters you converted each day, so we can apply the free limits. For visitors without an account this is keyed by a one-way hash of the IP address, not the address itself.
- Technical logs. Standard request logs (time, page, error details) kept by our hosting provider for operating and securing the service.

How long we keep it
- Without an account: text and audio are kept for up to 30 days so your download link keeps working, then deleted.
- With an account: your audio and its text stay in your library until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting an item removes its text and audio files.
- Usage counts: kept for 90 days.
Your choices
You can delete any item in My audio, and delete your account in Settings, which removes your library. For other requests (a copy of your data, corrections) email the address below.
Children
ttsanything is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell account holders by email when the change is significant.
