What TTSMaker is

TTSMaker is a free web text-to-speech tool with a long list of voices and languages. You paste text, solve a CAPTCHA, convert and download the audio. Its free plan allows 20,000 characters a week and permits commercial use; paid plans (from $9.99 a month billed yearly, as of October 2026) remove the CAPTCHA and ads and raise the limits.

Why people look for a TTSMaker alternative

  • The CAPTCHA on every conversion. It's fine once, tiring when you're converting a script line by line.
  • Pasted text only. To hear a PDF or an ebook you first have to copy the text out, page numbers and headers included.
  • Short per-conversion caps on many voices, so longer texts have to be split by hand.

How to convert text with ttsanything

  1. Paste your text in the box at the top of this page, or switch to Upload a file for a PDF, Word, EPUB or subtitle file, or Web link for an article.
  2. Pick a language and a voice. Press ▶ next to any voice to hear it first.
  3. Press Read it aloud. Playback starts within seconds and the passage being read is highlighted.
  4. Press Download MP3 when it's done.

Questions

Is ttsanything affiliated with TTSMaker?

No. ttsanything is an independent text-to-speech tool with no connection to TTSMaker or its makers.

How does the free limit compare?

TTSMaker's free plan allows 20,000 characters a week, with a per-conversion cap that depends on the voice. ttsanything gives guests 3,000 characters a day and free accounts 10,000 a day, with up to 10,000 in one conversion.

Can I use the audio commercially?

Not on our free plans: audio made with them is for personal use (see the terms). TTSMaker allows commercial use on its free plan, so if you need free commercial audio today, TTSMaker is the better fit.

Does it have as many languages?

ttsanything covers 16 languages with 213 voices. TTSMaker lists more languages, so check that yours is in our language list before switching.
